In March 2020, I was three years into my full service pet care company. I had 9 employees and we were doing just under $200,000 in revenue a year. Cue the Covid19 global pandemic - the industry massively shifted, and I had to rethink everything.
Over the course of the next year, I shifted my entire business. I discontinued all travel care and niched into daily dog walking only. Between May 2020 and May 2021, I doubled the size of my business, doubled by profit margins, and tripled the size of my team. All while reducing our hours of service to 9 am to 4 pm only and building a daily dog walking on-demand business.
